The 35:35 of pregnancy!

Pics taken at 35 weeks

  1. How far along? 35 wks (this means I am 35 weeks and have 35 days left to go!!)
  2. Maternity clothes? maternity clothing
  3. Stretch marks?still none, feeling very lucky
  4. Sleep?hmm, well, let's just say that I have some knots in my back and they prevent me form getting comfy...then I just tend to wake up at 5:30 for no reason...it's all good though, I look at is as preparation for when baby girl arrives...there probably will be little to no sleep!
  5. Best moment last week?  Multiple baby showers!  I will have to post on this when I get a chance and get things nestled into her room...but each of our works and also a friends/family one that was planned out!
  6. Movement?still alien baby...maybe even worse if possible...it's is crazy when I lay on my side on the couch and look down...I literally think I see the outline of her foot push up and then graze my belly, then disappear...hopefully these are just her love kicks and not saying something like "mommy, I hate that Cinnabon you just fed me!"
  7. Symptoms? linea negra, swelling in ankles and some in hands -->getting harder to wear my rings :(, Braxton Hicks are back in effect, back issues (hoping a massage on Saturday will fix this!)
  8. Gender? Baby girl...Kensington!!
  9. Labor signs? other than my Braxton Hicks...no real labor signs
  10. Belly button in/out? Out...
  11. What I miss?  seeing my feet while standing and looking down, laying around comfortably, being able to give myself a pedicure, shaving my legs with ease (when you get that big belly in the way, it makes things a lot harder!)
  12. Looking forward to? getting to see family again this coming weekend as we celebrate my cousin's sons' 1st birthday!  Oh and little Matthew is THE cutest!!  Can't wait to spoil him!

Growing, growing, growing. Yup, baby and you. You’ve reached 35 weeks, and your uterus has grown about 1,000 times its original size, a number that might sound exaggerated to everyone else -- but to you it probably feels more like a million. You can expect to gain about a half-pound a week before birth, and baby’s beefing up, too. At 35 weeks, some moms-to-be feel like they have a ton of stuff left to do before baby’s arrival. Others can barely wait for baby to make his debut. Either way, try not to stress. Baby will show up when he’s ready, and he won’t care if you haven’t checked every little detail off your list.

Your baby's the size of a butternut squash!
He's about 17.2 to 18.7 inches. From here on out, he won't get much longer, but he's plumping up. He's now about 4.2 to 5.8 pounds, and he'll put on a pound or more of baby fat before birth.

  • Now, his hearing is fully developed, and he responds best to high-pitched noises.
  • If it's a boy, his testes have probably fully descended.

Getting old

You know, I love volleyball with a passion...kinda maybe a bit obsessed with it...But I am coming to realize that I can't do "tournament" nights anymore.

I played last night off and on from 6:45 til about 11pm.

I

am

so

exhausted

My body was screaming at me this morning to NOT get outta bed.

Would a sick day be in order...I wish!

I sure do feel like my body is sick...aches, pains and scrapes from hitting the floor last night.

But I just can't get enough, seems crazy, I know EXACTLY what playing that long in one night does to me and how I feel the next morning all day long...sigh

But, guess what!?!?

I get to do it ALL over again this coming Thursday with my coed team...sweet!

My women's team did make it to the finals anyways, so it was all worth it!

Crazy Bizzy week

Things have been hectic this week!

I have been so caught up in odds and ends every night this week that I have barely had time to think!

I guess things got busier when I got back into sewing this past Sunday. I am in the midst of sewing towels for Mother's Day and also for my sister...hopefully they will like them.
I did bring these into work yesterday and got rave reviews (and even asked where I bought them!-such a compliment since I made them!)

Monday night I had volleyball and witnessed that cute "ask her to the Prom" scene...followed by coming home and working on a towel til 11pm

Tuesday I finally went back to my chiropractor (I have the worst back EVER!) and got re-aligned...you know it's bad when you get told "you may wanna go home and ice your neck/back tonight..." (it was real bad, I still hurt today...but I needed to get this body back to where it should be!)...I also headed to the liquor store to stock up on a bottle and some mini-bottles for this upcoming weekends fun!

Wednesday (last night) I headed out with the girls to do some bachelorette shopping at a few stores. We spent HOURS shopping, talking and gawking at things and finally ended up with some great lil purchases!

Thursday (tonight) I have my coed volleyball and I need to finish packing for the weekend, make at least one full set of towels and try to get in some quality time with the hubby and dog (since I leave tomorrow and won't be back til Sunday night)

Friday-off to Atlantic City for a really fun bachelorette weekend! This should be loads of fun with some of my fav gals of all time! I will be sure to take lots of pictures (or have someone take tons) and try to post some...but no promises!

I get back Sunday afternoon/evening and have to gear myself up for the work week and volleyball! Hopefully my body can handle this!

In saying all this, it feels like time has been flying by! I have no clue where April went...how is it May already! My goodness. I think I need an extra 24 hours in my days just to get some stuff accomplished...maybe things will quiet down a bit next week so I can finish things up (probably not, but a girl can hope!)

Serenity Now...(thinking of the beach...always calms me down...)

The Princess and the Pea

Have you ever read that story?

Well, if not, that's ok...this blog is about sleeping (I just think the cartoon is funny!)

So I had never really thought about the way I sleep affecting so much stuff until I read this news posting by CNN yesterday...

and boy, do I sleep in the WORST position of them all...

Yes, that's me...the stomach sleeper.

If you don't have time to read that news report, basically it says that sleeping on your back is best, followed by sleeping on your side, then fetal position and finally (and worst of all) the stomach (yep-me!)

The worst part of all is that apparently the position you sleep in affects not only your spine/adjustment but also wrinkle formation and also (if you happen to be a lady) your "breast perkiness"...really?

I mean, I guess it makes sense that gravity is working on those bad boys while you sleep at night...and you tend to go to sleep every night...so over time they will sag more?!? Oi!

But I guess I thought more about it yesterday after I woke up, got into work and had the WORST whole body feeling. My whole spine (from tailbone to neck) was killing me...no matter what I did (stretch, massage, etc.) the pain wouldn't diminish...even with good old advil (which I usually hate to resort to meds to fix something...I will wallow in pain for all that I can)

So, since I am a tummy sleeper....this news cast also told me that my tummy sleeping will also cause numbness/tingling due to incorrect or lack of spinal alignment at night....go figure!

So, last night I tried out back sleeping (best position)...I usually have a hard time falling asleep this way, but for some reason after reading my book a bit, I passed out...woke up feeling super refreshed (with fewer wrinkles and perky breasts) and ready to start this day with a bang!

How do you sleep??
