Let me introduce our bundle of joy...

First off, sorry for taking so long to post about the birth of my sweet baby girl!

I have been a little preoccupied with loving on her non-stop!

Our sweet girl, Kensington Capri, was born on March 6th, 2012 at 2:04pm.  She weighed in at 9 lbs 10.1 ozs and was 21.5" long.  She couldn't have been any more perfect from the start!

As far as my labor story goes, I was induced Monday March 5th in the evening since my doctor suspected a large baby (and boy was she right!)

I was put on pitocin to get things going around 7:30 am March 6th and progressed through labor until having her in the early afternoon hours.  I feel very fortunate that I was not in active labor for very long or pushing for very long either.  I did my best at sticking to my birth plan and received a half dose of meds in order to relax me a bit, but nothing else.  I wanted to use the tools I was taught in my Lamaze class in order to give birth, and I think the process was amazing.  Naturally, I would not have been able to get through it all without the amazing help and support of my loving husband as well as my nurse and doctor.

Now that baby girl is almost 2 weeks old (tomorrow!!), we are finally getting into more of a schedule and I swear she was on a 4 hour feeding schedule last night compared to a 3 hour schedule the night before...she amazes her momma every day in some way!

Predictions...?

So after a doctor check-up yesterday to see how baby girl is doing and if I am progressing any further, we had lots of good news!

Seems as though I have dilated a little farther (almost 2 cm) and have already become 50-60% effaced...

excellent!

In saying this I have already had a few predictions on what day Baby Kensington will make her debut appearance...

I had a coworker that actually told me she had a feeling I would have her TODAY...so we shall see

My sister and I both think she is going to be a Leap Day baby

I am not sure when she will be here, but I know I am anxious to meet her and those sweet chubby cheeks!

(By the way, my due date is March 6th as a reminder...and my doctor is not going to let me go past...aka I am going to be induced by then, so nothing really past March 7th would be feasible...)

Party Day Extras

On top of all the fun we had at our Gender Reveal party,
we also were able to spend some time outdoors with my sister's kiddos

being absolutely silly

We inflated our large cemetery archway for upcoming Halloween,
set it out in the middle of our cul-de-sac,
popped motorcycle helmets on the kiddos heads,
sat them on an oversized skateboard,
and let the fun begin

It was really cute...and my husband was in the middle of it, being the biggest kid of all

I totally love this about him

and...he is going to be the best daddy in the whole world

Baby Bump Goes Camping

This past weekend the hubby and I went to George Washington National Forest (GWNF) for some wheelin' and campin' with some friends

We left Friday and came back home Sunday after a wonderfully full day of fun on Saturday.

Luckily enough, baby bump and I made it safely through all the adventures!!

Although there were a few moments that I thought I might freeze...my mummy sleeping bag didn't feel warm enough for the windy nights and 30 degree F temps...

But enough talk, let me show you in pictures how much fun we had!

Memorial Day Fun

My dad called early this morning to see if Mike and I wanted to go on the pontoon boat for the day...

WAY better than our plans (which were nothing!)

So after a skype date with Mike's sister Laura to catch up on life, we packed up (dog included) and headed off to Lake Anna...
